About Me.

Hi, I'm Miss Molly.

For 20 years, I’ve built my editing business entirely on referrals. No ads. No website. Until now. For two decades, I’ve been an academic writing whisperer, specializing in dissertations and journal articles. But I also created the first writing center at my local university, working with students on everything from essays to senior theses, and schooling them on how NOT to plagiarize. I’ve seen every flavor of writing crisis, from “I have 47 pages and no argument” to “my professor wants revisions and I’ve forgotten how commas work.” I help writers say what they mean with clarity and precision, untangling the prose without losing the insight.

Over the course of my exceedingly long life, I’ve been (in
no particular order) a waitress, a seller of vintage clothing, a newspaper copy editor, an operator at an answering service, a grant writer, and an inspector for the International Nuclear Regulatory Commission. (One of these is not strictly true). I’m a California native, have strong opinions about the Oxford comma (duh – who doesn’t?), enjoy a wide variety of musical styles and genres, and detest green bell peppers and Jell-O. I have too many purses and a lot of weird stories. Maybe I’ll share some with you – stories, not purses.
